Young Veteran Gets $30K From Renewed Claim

A Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) veteran service officer (VSO) helped 35-year-old female veteran file a new claim in April 2024. She had been rated at 0% due to the denial of a claim in 2016, but didn’t remember filing. 

The VA approved her for an increase to 50% in October, with certain health conditions deferred for further evaluation. In November, she was approved for an additional increase to 80% and received retroactive payments of more than $30,000.
