Veteran Granted $33K in Back Pay
VVA veteran service officer (VSO) James Robey assisted a veteran with his claim for entitlement to service connection for prostate cancer under the Sgt. First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (a.k.a. the Honoring Our PACT Act) Act of 2022. Due to the veteran’s service on Royal Thai military bases, the Veterans Administration conceded that the veteran in question had been exposed to Agent Orange, and granted service connection for prostate cancer at 100% retroactively to August 2022. The veteran received about $33,730 in back pay as a result of the decision.
