Help Is Available for a Variety of Veteran Claims 

Thanks to their knowledge and access, Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) veteran service officers (VSOs) can help with more than just health care and disability compensation claims. 

Last year, a VSO used the VA’s Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS) to help a veteran file a medal replacement request. The VSO was able to access the veteran’s discharge document in support of the request, and the veteran received a replacement within a month. 

The same month, a VSO successfully helped a surviving spouse complete and submit paperwork to request a headstone and burial allowance from the VA for her husband, who was a veteran and had recently passed away.
