A Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) veteran service officer (VSO) was working with a Vietnam veteran to access benefits, but he unfortunately passed away in late May from multiple myeloma cancer thought to be related to Agent Orange exposure. The veteran had been rated at 100%.

After submitting a Dependency & Indemnity Compensation (DIC) application with attachments in early June, the veteran’s surviving spouse was approved in just four days. She will receive over $2,000 DIC every month.
