A Denial Isn’t Always the Last Word on a Claim

A Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) veteran service officer (VSO) can often access veteran benefits even after initial VA denials.

A Massachusetts VSO helped one veteran file a successful appeal to a prior denial on a claim of sleep apnea. The veteran was awarded service-connected disability retroactive to 2018 at 90%.

Another veteran arrived with two issues, but after reviewing the evidence, his VSO realized that he could submit for five service-connected disabilities. The veteran was awarded 60% disability and is now challenging a previous 0% rating and denial with new evidence.

Contact a VVA Veteran Service Officer to assist with your claim in states that have a benefits program here, or search for a VSO from another organization through the VA’s website in states where we do not. Enter your ZIP code or city and state, and you’ll see which VSOs serve your area.
