Indiana Helps Vets Affected by Agent Orange Exposures

The Indiana State Council of Vietnam Veterans of America recently reported several success stories related to presumptive Agent Orange exposures. One veteran was awarded 100% compensation for Parkinson’s disease due to his presumptive Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. He had never filed a claim or received VA healthcare before, and his wife was ecstatic that VSOs were able to help.

Another veteran received 100% for kidney cancer due to presumptive Agent Orange exposure from Vietnam. He had been denied compensation previously, but the PACT Act expanded coverage to make him was eligible for presumption.

And another veteran’s service-connected disability rating was increased to 100% due to a diagnosis of prostate cancer. His claim had been denied previously because he had not served in an Agent Orange presumptive area, but Indiana VSOs were able to make the case that he serviced airplanes carrying the toxic defoliant and get his claim approved

Contact a VVA Veteran Service Officer to assist with your claim in states that have a benefits program here, or search for a VSO from another organization through the VA’s website in states where we do not. Enter your ZIP code or city and state, and you’ll see which VSOs serve your area.
